On August 1st, Brownstone Studio will host a free-entry, live music extravaganza featuring 10 Thai and international acts from the city. Bangkok Comeback will be a timely boost for the arts scene here in the City of Angels. Some of the city’s freshest original acts will be performing through the evening. Hardcore Thai outfit Born From Pain (above) will headline the talent-stacked event.

Stay Awake front-man John Will Sail organized the event, which will blend acoustic vibes with cathartic, head-pumping Heavy Metal, Hardcore and Punk bands later in the night. John informed BKK OX that this event is non-profit and all the artists are coming together to perform for a bigger purpose – to rejuvenate the scene.

After lock-down, I felt it was important to put on a free event with a bunch of great Bangkok bands/artists to restart the music community. Brownstone is the ideal place and it feels like Bangkok’s music and art community hub.

The Beer Garden Acoustic Stage, a beautiful feature of Brownstone, opens at sunset and will host the following acts:
- 18:00: Ploy and Ben (Ten Layers of Air)
- 18:30: Matt Vend (touring, and currently stranded South African solo artist)
- 19:00: Angel Nantiya
- 19:30: Rob Saltsman
- 20:00: Jenny and Fiffi
- 20:45: Venn

The Main Stage is indoors and will host four high-octane bands, who are sure to get the juices flowing. The line-up is:
- 21:30pm: Born from Pain
- 22:10: Stay Awake
- 22:50: Of Victims and Prey
- 23:30: Dirty Magic (below)

Brownstone has hosted some memorable live music events in the past, and continues to thrive as a haven for creativity and experimental art. Artists gravitate towards the venue, which is a community in itself, with several artists living on-site.

The setup is conducive to variety and diversity, with an open, outdoor area as well as the atmospheric indoor stage. There are various other rooms in the Brownstone complex, which are always utilized to showcase art and performance. Brownstone also features The Best Studio, whose space is dedicated to broadcast and media production, and is also the home of electronic outfit Rockshreller.

Whether you’re into tantalizing acoustic melodies, or the high energy, big band sound – this event has all the makings of a classic. BKK OX is confident Bangkok Comeback will deliver an experience to savour for Bangkok’s live music faithful.

Tickets are free of charge, but you will be required to buy a drink from the bar. In addition to the Brownstone bar, there will be food and drinks vendors to serve your needs – should you get peckish or fancy a craft beer. So – see you on August 1st!
